Draft version 2026-09-09

Children and guardian setup

A parent or authorised guardian creates the child profile and controls student access. A child does not need an independent parent account. The optional child email supports student sign-in when an available method is configured. A private parent PIN supports handing a shared device to a child without opening the parent account.

Child settings lets the account owner invite another adult for a particular child. Invited adults confirm their authority before accepting. The app records policy versions and agreement times when adults acknowledge the policies during account or child setup.

For students: your parent or guardian can see your practice and results. Educators reviewing your work may see your answers. Please do not put your address, phone number, passwords or private information about yourself or other people into written answers.

Information the app handles

  • Account name, email, role, sign-in and verification records, protected password/PIN hashes when used, policy acknowledgement records and account preferences.
  • Child first name, school year, practice level, selected program, optional target exam month and student email, guardian access and plan status.
  • Assignments, question responses including writing, scoring and rubric feedback, hints used, session times, practice progress, skill patterns and badges.
  • Purchase references, selected packages, amounts and payment/access status. Payment-card details are entered with the payment provider rather than stored in the learning database.
  • Feedback messages, support correspondence and operational records needed to maintain the service.

What the information is used for

The app uses these records to sign you in, manage child and guardian access, deliver and adapt practice, mark work, explain results, process purchases, handle support and administer the service.

Family reporting can include aggregate practice comparisons with children at the same current practice level and program. Small groups are suppressed: comparisons require at least 10 other eligible children, each with at least 3 scored sessions in the same reporting period. Other families' names and individual responses are not shown in these comparisons.

Who can access records and service providers

The account owner and authorised family members see records according to their access roles. A guardian can view and manage the child's practice and billing; a viewer can see learning records but cannot manage or start practice; billing access allows viewing and billing without child-management or practice permissions. Educators and administrators have tools for assignments, reviewing work, content, support and service operations. Student-mode sessions are restricted to the intended child's learning area.

Configured service providers support hosting, database storage, email delivery, optional external sign-in and payment processing. The integrations include Resend for email and Stripe for checkout. If you choose external sign-in, that provider processes authentication under its own terms.

Provider processing locations and retention arrangements need operator review before public launch. This draft does not claim that all processing stays in Australia or that a provider has a particular certification.

Optional AI-assisted writing assessment

AI assessment is not automatic on every submission. When configured, an educator may request a draft rubric assessment from Anthropic. The request includes the writing response, prompt, marking guidance, practice level and program. The marking request does not need the child's name or email, but identifying details typed into the response would still be included.

An educator reviews and finalises the assessment, or marks manually without an AI draft. The current workflow offers an educator choice; it should not be read as a separate parent opt-in control. Contact support before submitting sensitive writing if you need clarification. Provider retention and model-use terms must be verified by the operator; this page makes no unverified “never used for training” promise.

Cookies and minimal usage metrics

The app uses first-party cookies for sign-in and account or child context. Necessary cookies support access controls and session preferences.

First-party funnel metrics record limited events such as signup, child setup, session milestones and checkout status so the operator can understand where journeys fail. They use event types, timestamps and relevant internal identifiers or limited operational fields—not names, email addresses or answer text. These metrics are distinct from learning records, which do contain responses to provide feedback. They are not third-party advertising profiles.

Access, correction, export and deletion

Review child information in Child settings. Use Family account settings to download a JSON export of your account information and the child learning records you are allowed to view. Store the download securely. Other adults' credentials and payment details are not included.

Account email changes require confirmation through both the current and new inbox. Deletion requires inbox confirmation and is blocked while a legacy recurring subscription remains active. If you cannot sign in or access your inbox, contact support to request help; authority over the account and any child profile must be verified.

Removing a profile from everyday use is not necessarily immediate erasure of every record. The account-deletion flow uses a 30-day recovery period for your account and child profiles you own before scheduled permanent cleanup. Shared profiles owned by another account remain. Data needed for purchases, resolving disputes, security or legal obligations may need separate handling, and backups or provider copies may take longer. The operator must confirm retention and deletion schedules before launch; this draft does not promise a fixed erasure deadline.
